Justice For Breonna Taylor

Originally written September 24th 2020, in response to Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Louisville, Kentucky Jefferson County’s verdict of ‘not guilty’ to murderer and Officer Brett Hankison . Rather, these officers were charged with Wanton Endangerment. Breonna Taylor’s bullet ridden flat was given more humanity, than Breonna Taylor’s life itself.

Breonna Taylor -

(Her murder, a) Systematic Failure.
I would like to say that I’m surprised, but her murder was trivialised, publicised //

Used as part of the lie that her life mattered //

That justice would be served //

When instead, justice was perversed.

Sorry, justice is perverse.

‘Roles’ remain reversed, when being Black is perceived to be an endangerment to life.
‘Roles’ remain reversed, when whilst a woman sleeps - her murderers are not aRESTted.
